Harvey resident seeks House seat
He hopes to focus on West Bank issues

Billy Arnold has announced his candidacy for the 85th
District seat in the state House of Representatives.
In his announcement, the Harvey resident stated he plans
to focus on issues important to Gretna and Harvey residents,
including crime, flood protection and education.
"I will work in Baton Rouge to bring resolution to the
major issues affecting Gretna and Harvey," he stated in a
news release. "I have the education and experience to get
the job done and to move our area forward."
Arnold is married and has two children. He has a
bachelor's degree in business management from Southeastern
Louisiana University.
His community involvement includes service with the
Woodland Oaks Civic Association, the West Jefferson Civic
Coalition, Gretna Heritage Festival and Gretna Economic
Development Association.
Arnold is vying to replace state Rep. Joe Toomy,
R-Gretna, who cannot seek re-election because of term
limits. The district includes Gretna and Harvey.
